Dr John Oubre in Lafayette, La fixed mine using the TMJ splint to put my jaw back in the correct position

Mouthpiece from the dentist. At least that way you feel somewhat masculine like you're wearing a mouthpiece to play football. Or just go for the crazy middle aged white woman trio of TMJ, fibromyalgia, and migraine headaches.

doc should be able to pretty easily make a splint to wear at night that will keep your jaw aligned...pretty damn easy, really...

Try conservative treatment with a Physical Therapist first. Most people don't know that they can effectively treat TMJ and in many cases prevent surgery.

First off, good on you for coming here for advice as opposed to your doctor. Those guys are hacks anyways
Your best bet at this point is probably amputation

You're on the MS gulf coast? Look up Dr. Gottsche in D'Iberville. Call the office and ask about the laser treatment for TMJ.

TMD- Start with a balanced night guard from your dentist (not store bought). See a pro.

The AMA just recommended that direct to consumer drug advertising be banned. I guess next they'll attack internet posts soliciting information. How dare you try to find information from outside the doctor's office and how dare those drug companies try to make money. Terrible people everywhere!

Since you're asking us, I suppose it was a self diagnosis with the help of Google

I got TMJ from getting my jaw broken playing sports in school. I can't imagine that there is even a surgery that could effectively keep the mandible from popping out of socket. I imagine that there is one, but that risk/reward seems like it would be way out of whack.

Well there you go. Had no idea there was laser surgery available.

It's not surgery and the treatment takes less than 10 minutes. Just trust me and call her office tomorrow.
