OT cops: are there really areas that go unpoliced??

Watched triple 9 last night and it reminded me somewhat of Training Day. Are there really areas in cities that go unpoliced to the point people can just open fire on cops with no repercussions or drop your partner off to get killed with no questions or follow up?

If those areas were unpoliced, there would be no cops to open fire on in the first place.

worked with an ex cop from new iberia.

he said they rarely went in some project housing near new the berry.

My boss worked in St. Louis in the early 90's and said he would have to go to Ferguson sometimes. He said it was nothing to see bullet holes in cop cars in that area.
