Happy start to the work week, looks like it's gonna be a hot one. I usually only post cheap flights to big cities, but I'm seeing some decent fares to smaller cities so I'll include those as well this week. Everything listed below is the price for a roundtrip ticket from New Orleans. I find everything using google flights or southwest's site, typing MSY into the departure and just looking at the map for locations. Any requests let me know

Austin: $160 on American. End of August through early december, mostly Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays.

Los Angeles: $206 on American, $210 on United. End of August through early Dec, mostly Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays.

San Diego: $226 on American, Wednesdays and Saturdays end of August through early Dec.

Kansas City: $160 on American. Tues, Wed, some Saturdays up until early December

Fort Lauderdale: $162 on Delta, $171 on United, $179 on US Airways. Tues, Wed, Sat through early December

Augusta (Georgia): $185 on US Airways, $188 on Delta. Tues, Wed, Sat through early December

Chattanooga: $188 on Delta. Tues, Wed, Sat through early December

Denver: $156 on American, $181 on United. Wednesdays and Saturdays through early December

Chicago: $97 on American, United, or Southwest. Random Wednesdays and Saturdays through early December on AA or United, Tuesdays Wednesdays and Saturdays on Southwest.

Minneapolis: $174 on American or United. Wednesdays and Saturdays through early Dec

Killeen: $186 on American. Tues, Wed, Sat through early December

Seattle: $270 on United, $304 on Delta, $316 on American, $336 on Alaska. Many open dates

San Francisco: $294 on American, $298 on United. Lot of availability

Orlando: $176 on American. Tuesdays and Wednesdays through early December.

Dallas: $82 on Southwest. Wide open for most of the fall

Let's see. Aug 28th- Sept 2nd on AA, Wed Sept 9- Sat Sept 12 on American or United, Sat Sept 26- Tues Sept 29th on AA or United, etc. Here's a link with those last dates. Click on the calendar feature and you'll see it's mostly Wednesdays and Saturdays LINK

ETA: On Southwest's site, click on the calendar feature, then type in new orleans to chicago for let's say september. You'll see Tues, Wed, Saturdays it's $49 each way. LINK

The wife and I are planning on going to Denver in March for our anniversary, what would you think is the best time to book the flights and hotel and all that?

So as you can see, the price for New Orleans- Denver can get as low as $150 (I haven't seen it any lower). When spring comes around, a lot of people (myself included) like to fly to Denver to go skiing so usually the cheapest price I can find is around $200 if it's not a holiday weekend.

I'd say if you see anything for below $200 I'd book that. If not, give it until around October to start browsing, by December or early January the pricing should be about right.

People that like to travel the country without overpaying for hotels, airline tickets, rental cars, etc. I can make a separate thread for the Spirit airlines fares just for you if you're really that poor

Browsing a few times a week on google flights. Usually middle of the week and once on sundays/mondays after the airlines update their schedules.

Cuse have you noticed recently how expensive it is to fly to Atlanta from Nola for some reason? Need to go a few times during football season Fri-Sun. Mainly October 9-11...any suggestions under $250? Usually they're less than $200

Well southwest and Delta for those dates are $275, Frontier is flying the route so if you don't mind paying an extra $10 for a seat and bring a carryon for that weekend it's $163.

MSY-ATL Fri Oct 9 4:30pm-6:55pm
ATL-MSY Sun Oct 11 7:10pm-7:45pm

I usually avoid Frontier at all costs but may have to suck it up. $275 is ridiculous to Atlanta, prob has to do with LSU @ USC that weekend and the many flights to Columbia through Atlanta.

Do you ever find International flights? I will be flying to London next summer (June). I know it is too soon for flights but curious when you think I should start looking and the best time to book. I doubt those flights ever go on sale, though.

Not usually, but I can start looking. I saw in another blog somewhere a few weeks ago Houston-China for $500, almost posted that. I'd wait til at least the fall to look. Fares to Europe are usually through the roof for the summer, but they have 1 or 2 sales in winter/early spring for summer flights
