Good evening everyone, hope y'all have a good 4th of july weekend. I'll be heading from Quebec to Philly and the jersey shore (get all your jokes out now) on Saturday so it should be fun. Was not planning on posting this thread this week, but actually saw some really good fares to California and the rest of the US from New Orleans on American/US. Not sure why they're having this good of a sale up starting middle end of august until middle of December, but I'll take it. I'll post what I found below.

ETA: Fares are gone, only lasted a few hours. If they pop back up next week I'll repost.

MSY to:
San Diego: $220 on American. Last week of Aug to 3rd week of Dec (16th), mostly Tues, Wed, Sat.

San Francisco: $288 on American. Last week of Aug to 3rd week of Dec (16th), mostly Tues, Wed, Sat, some Mondays included

Los Angeles: $182 some random days, next cheapest grouping is $200 roundtrip mostly Tues, Wed, Sat. Last week of Aug to Dec 16th

Chicago: $97 roundtrip is back in December. I know it's cold, but if you need to go up there are some decent fares

Boston: $202 roundtrip on AA. Last week of Aug to middle of december, mostly tues, wed, sat, some mondays.

Denver: $150 roundtrip on AA. Tues, Wed, Sat first week of Sept to middle of December. Think I may book this as a mileage run.

Dallas: $75 roundtrip on AA. Last week of Aug through middle of November, random days.

Minneapolis: $165 on AA. Oct, Nov, Dec, mostly Tues, Wed, Sat.

New York: $160 on United. Sept through Dec, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sats.

Washington DC: $151 on US Airways. Tues and Wed end of Aug through middle of December.

Orlando: $170 on AA/US. Tues and Wed end of Aug through middle of December

Sorry, wish this would've popped up a few weeks ago. I know a lot of people go to california from the Nola/BTR area so I posted the fares this week since I saw they were <$300

Best I'm finding is $256 on American with one connection. It's $282 on Southwest nonstop. Considering I understand that it's dumb that I can get to Los Angeles for cheaper than going to St. Louis...

Glad it finally went down. Seems like they're waiting until late to reduce the Dallas and Houston cheap dates

Is there a website that lists all these deals? I live in Los Angeles and airfare going to the east coast can be pricey at times so I'd love to have a way to monitor deals

I use google flights and just check a few times a week. If the fares are good I'll post them, if not I wait until the next week.

I just checked LAX-NYC and all I can say is wow. $391 for the cheapest flight and that's not until Sept or Oct? Screw that. I'll keep an eye out for you. Usually when one airline's flights goes down, they all do. Keep an eye out for United trying to promote their "new PS service into Newark", I have a feeling they're going to have to drop their prices since they're dumb and leaving JFK.

US Airways isn't that bad, just flew them BTR-CLT-PHL-YQB with no issues. Delta's at $230 for MSY-DCA so quite a bit more. On google flights up here in Canada it's showing up as "Average legroom (79 cm)"

I'm going to need you to call your people and make these flights a little cheaper.

I'll do my best, but you can't drive to Los Angeles from Nola for even close to under $200

All the prices in the OP are for a roundtrip ticket. Booking a one-way is completely different pricing. One-ways are usually cheapest if flying southwest or on the rare occasion United, AA/US, or Delta.

ETA: Ooops. I need to fly on 7/17. Those good prices are for AUG.

I ax because I often read Clark Howard's travel deals. Most of his deals are one-way specials, and it made me curious.

Never heard of this. I usually just look on my own and find roundtrip tickets. Unfortunately, it looks like most of the deals I posted are now gone...guess AA raised their prices for the weekend
