OT Cheap Airfare of the Week: MSY- ATL ($88), DEN ($145), FLL ($136)

I've been looking for the past few weeks for some deals out of BTR/MSY and haven't seen anything great besides that LAX deal. But I'll still post what I've found and you can decide for yourself.
MSY-ATL: Frontier is about to begin flying MSY-ATL so to try and get your business they have some roundtrip fares from $88. Frontier is one of the airlines that you have to pay for a bag, soda, etc. but my mom flies them out of philly/trenton and doesn't seem to have any issues with them? Even if you check a bag for $30 roundtrip you're still only at $138 (Delta is at $191 and Southwest >>$200).
MSY-DEN: Again, Frontier is trying to beat out Southwest and United with $145 fares (Southwest and United at $214). This looks to be good for April and May.
MSY-FLL: Not sure why Southwest is so cheap on this route, but $136 seems pretty good to me. This deal is bookable from now until the end of October.
ETA: $30 to check a bag roundtrip on Frontier per Cosmo, not $50.

I looked a week or so ago for this flight and found $118, think it was Frontier. I plan on going around mid April.

Nice, if I didn't have shite to do here in BR I'd go back to Denver again for that price. Weather should be nice then as well

Only $15 to check a bag on Frontier if you sign up for tgeir rewards program which is easy enough.

Edited Cosmo, thanks
Yeah, middle of the week (recently it's been Thursdays) sees the decent fares. I'm seeing as low as $248 for MSY-MCO on Delta or United end of Oct. One of the connections is MSY-Detroit-MCO so just a little out of the way

I snagged one of those $145 msy-den fares for may last week. I dont mind Frontier. Other passengers dont seem as bad as they do on Southwest for some reason.

I'm doing this in April and I used "Google Flights" two weeks ago to get united for $185.
I would take that over Frontier anyday.
Google Flights is where it be.

$88 round trip to ATL is crazy cheap. I wonder if you can carry on a bookbag at no charge on Frontier? I am waiting to see if Southwest is going to reduce their flight cost to ATL to compete with Frontier.
I had booked the FLL flight a couple weeks ago and it was that cheap. Only problem was hotels around FLL and Miami are insanely priced at this time of year.

Thanks for the heads up on flights. That deal to Chicago few months ago was awesome. I took advantage of it. $84 round trip from MSY.

From their website, it looks like a bookbag is free as long as it fits under the seat. Otherwise if it has to go overhead it's $30.
quote:
Personal Item
Everyone may carry on one personal item that fits under the seat. This item must not exceed 18" x 14" x 8", inclusive of all handles, wheels, and straps. This carry on must fit underneath the seat in front of you.
Carry-On
Carry-On bag charges vary based on the type of fare you purchase and when you finalize your travel purchase. See the handy chart below for details. Carry-On Bags can be no larger than 24” tall, 10” wide, and 16” long (including handles, wheels, and straps) and no heavier than 35 pounds. Think bags with wheels, duffle bags, etc. Carry-On Bags must be able to fit either underneath the seat or in the overhead bin. EarlyReturns Elite members always receive free carry-ons. Carry-on fees are non-refundable.
Also the FLL deal runs from now until October so if there's no cheap hotels now you could look for early fall?

Planning a trip to Portland in early April. Anyone got any sources for good fares?

Where are you trying to fly from to get to PDX? Southwest, Frontier, and the big 3 airlines fly there so you have options. I can help if you have dates in mind

Kayak still has its place. I was doing a search the other day and Kayak was able to get me a lower fare than G-Flights

It was $166 for a roundtrip ticket on Southwest or United nonstop MSY-LAX, great deal. Think I posted it on 2/24 so a few weeks ago
