I'm looking to add some additional decking in my attic to increase storage.

Should I be looking at a particular type of plywood or OSB?

Other than the obvious "dont cover plumbing vents or pinch wires" are there any concerns a DIY guy should think about?

As a token of my gratitude, please enjoy these lovely ladies

If you are in the south don't attempt this in the summer. I just recently did this in the winter. I used left.over plywood. The 3/4 is what I used if I were walking in it and closer to the edges I used whatever I had left over.

You're going to want to avoid falling through the ceiling.

With that much Photoshop, it should be considered a construction zone.

3/4" osb. FYI If your builder didn't leave some plywood up there you may have to rip it to get it up in there, or maybe take your ladder off...

Make sure to keep at least a 1" gap between the decking and any insulation. Otherwise, you'll get moldy insulation.

The builder added a considerable amount of deck up there. I did not see any loose sheets.

My plan was to cut the sheets before bringing them up

You should be. Either you make it between the joists and fall all the way to the floor... or you end up with a foot going through on either side of a joist and you got a 2x4 in your nutsack.

Rip them long ways, making 2' x 8' pieces so they'll match up to your studs/joists. You may already know that though...

If he has 2 x 4's as ceiling joists (and a hundred says he doesn't) he best not be putting much up there...dumbass.

Those young ladies should take a safety class before anyone lets them near a worksite.

Go with 1/2" osb. If you cut it 24"x8' like someone said, run it across the studs. If you put a joint at every stud, you'll get sagging.

You certainly don't need 3/4" for an attic.
