I recommend anything from Jack Kerouac OUTSIDE of On The Road, especially Desolation Angels, Dr Sax, or Visions Of Gerard. Any one of these will show you the sincerity of spirit of one of the greatest writers in American literary history. Kerouac's most famous book was almost a curse because it lead the way to many unfair stereotypes in relation to his name. But in the end, Kerouac was a kindred spirit to Melville and Whitman. Check him out, you won't regret it.

I'm currently alternating my reading between two books:
At Dawn We Slept by Gordon Prange (it's about the attack on Pearl Harbor)
and
T. Harry Williams biography of Huey Long.
Both are fascinating books.

The Sellout by Paul Beatty. One of the funniest books I've ever read.

If your last name is puller check out 5s and 25s by Michael pitre. He's an Lsu grad and usmc vet who wrote a book about Iraq. He's actually coming to campus in a couple weeks to speak or something.

Let me condense that for the OP:
"My Daady was rich and gave me a shite-ton of money to get started. I managed to only go broke 2-3 times before I figured out business. I am going through life thinking I hit a triple never realizing I was born on third base to start with."
