Im new to the area, and I need reconstructive surgery of a torn scapholunate tendon in the wrist. Any recommendations on a good surgeon in the area.

My other option would be to see James Andrews in Florida. I would prefer to find someone local.

I can't give you any by name recommendations, but when I tore my knee up playing 8th grade football they sent me to Piedmont. Very professional staff there. Also was (maybe still is) the home hospital for the Braves, Flacons and Hawks ortho teams.

No specific recommendations but I would go to a hand/wrist specialist.

So your only 2 options are:

-find someone local within a reasonable distance from your home, or
-travel to another state to seek out THE WORLD'S BEST person in the field, who primarily deals with athletes and rich/famous people

that's it? Seems like quite a leap.
Hmmm I'm pretty hungry. I'm thinking about maybe ChicFilA or perhaps Le Bernardin in New York City.

I have seen an orthopedic wrist specialist. I do not feel comfortable with him cutting me open.

And I'm not looking for some "average" local doctor. If someone knows of an outstanding surgeon in Atlanta I would like to look into them for this procedure. If I cannot find someone in the area that is of the highest caliber, I will go to someone I know for sure who is.

So, you came here, to Tigerdroppings, for recommendations.

A public forum that reaches out to many people from the area.. Yes. Can't hurt to have more names to research.

And no.. Dr. Andrews was a recommendation from someone who he has operated on.

Damn Yall have nothing better to do huh? Get back to mopping the floors.
