We are going on a trip in March to Cancun area(Puerto Morelos to be exact) but we are looking to stay a few extra days after at another resort. Anyone have any recommendations on a good travel agent that truly knows this area? I know of Pearsons but would like some other opinions as well.

(And yes I know most of the OT doesnt believe in travel agents but this trip is really short notice and we need to book extremely soon.)

Not in Baton Rouge, but they are great Away to Go Travel Agency. Used them a couple of years ago and they were great working with us and had the best prices I could find anywhere including the internet.

Head south an hour and stay in Playa. Rent something from AirB&B and get out in the city and eat and drink...

Why do you need a travel agent to book a hotel in 2015? Seriously want an answer.

Because we arent looking to stay at the holiday inn while down there. We want a place that has really good food, great service, and alot to do while there. For the money it costs to stay at one of these resorts, Id like to get some opinions feom someone who has alot of experience with the resorts over there.

If we had alot of time to research everything over there, we wouldnt be looking for a travel agent. But being that we need to book this extremely soon (also same time as spring break) we dont mind listening to what a travel agent can offer.

We just left Playa, it is a great city. Get away from the resorts, it is safe. Stay near 5th Ave and eat drink and be merry...

Baton Rouge local girl.

Knows more about Cun than anybody I know.

Her daddy BTW was Jim Corbett, former LSU AD.

yeah, stay at Secrets Meroma.
30 miles south of Cancun. Resort has everything. If you don't need to be "in Cancun" this place is awesome.
Book it off expedia.

I would NOT USE EXPEDIA.

They really fricked me over last year. Hotel would not honor our reservation made thru Expedia. Word was Expedia was not promptly paying the resorts for trips.

So the resort said no can stay, even tho I had a fully paid reservation in hand.

If you decide to transfer away from Destin, I mean Cancun, Candian Transfers is a good company to use. We used them this trip and were very happy, much cheaper than a taxi...

Tripadvisor is pretty much the only place Ive been looking. Just trying to get opinions bc there are so many all inclusive resorts there and once I think Ive found a few places we might like, I get recommendations about resorts in a town right up the road from where we are staying.
