Never been there, but I have a job offer to move there. Can anyone tell me about it? Contemporary town? Young and coming vibe or old and worn out vibe? Most importantly, how are the beaches?

If you have the money to live on the bay and get a boat, do it(houses on the bay there arent actually all that expensive) If you cant live on the bay with your boat, dont do it

I live there, it's a great little town if you can afford to live in Old Town. The beaches are fine, the water sucks for getting into. It's shallow for 100 yards or so. Great for tossing the football or chilling in a chair though. It's best to have a boat to reach the barrier islands if you want a nicer beach.

You found work in BSL?

I've got a friend who swears it's the greatest place in the country. But he also thinks Keystone is a good beer...

None of the nice on-the-water houses have boat-docks. We're members of the yacht club and that's how most people use boats around here. You don't have to be on the water here either...

Would you say Cat Island is South or Southeast of BSL?

Have been going to BSL/Waveland regularly since we were kids. Trying to convince Mom and DadWafer (no pics for either) to buy a summer house on/near the beach.

Im saying I think it is a shitty place to live unless I lived on the water with my boat. If not I think the place sucks. I have been there a ton. No offense though Im sure you would hate where I live

Bay St. Louis is mostly older people from the New Orleans area. That being said, I love it, everything is so relaxed. The river is hoppin during the summertime with waterports and cruisers. The salt and fresh water fishing is excellent once you learn the spots. Two casinos, plenty restaurants and bars. The beaches aren't Destin but I still enjoy sittin in the water drinking a cold beer. You can get a decent camp/house on the water for 150ish in the Garden Isles area. They have plenty of events and festivals throughout the year and when the weather is good the bars on the Bay are always a good time.

Has a mean sheepshead bite in certain times of the year, so the sooner you learn to clean them the better.

Family goes there every year for Easter. Been doing so for almost 40 years. My uncle just bought a camp there. It's a nice quiet little town. Nola isn't too far, casino's nearby. Only problem is there isn't much of a night life aside from casinos. If you are a single guy under 30 It might not be much fun, but if you are married/in a relationship and looking to settle down, its a great place. Also owning Jet Ski's would make it 100 times better. As someone alluded to earlier, it's not very deep and not rough.
