There is no way in hell Im ever going to eat brown rice and spinach 4 times a day. There's no reason at all to do that, unless you REALLY like brown rice. Aside from all of that, congrats on getting in great shape. Just dont think that eating brown rice with no flavor is what did it.

Good for this guy. Glad he's getting in shape, and more power to him for doing it on his own.

But...what in the hell does this have to do with crossfit?

See, I actually enjoy eating like this. I truly enjoy it more than burgers and French fries. Burgers and French fries sound disgusting to me. I'd rather eat clean healthy food than crap any day.

Not all burgers and fries are bad for you. Eating brown rice does not mean you are eating healthy. In fact, if you dont seriously work out like this guy is, then eating that much brown rice (and any complex carb) will put more fat on you than eating a cheeseburger ever will.

Diet:

breakfast: protein shake in 10 oz of skim milk, brown rice cake, multivitamin powder pack, fruits & greens powder mix in 24 oz of water, fish oil and flaxseed pill.

2-3 hour later snack: spinach salad with lowfat dressing, carrots, cup of yogurt, a vitamin C and B12 plus a flaxseed pill, and 24 oz of water

hour before I take my preworkout: brown rice cake with a couple tbls of peanut butter on top, banana, and 24 oz of water

30 min before I workout I take my preworkout stuff

post workout: protein shake in 10 oz of water, brwn rice cake, 1/4 cup of almonds, 24 oz of water mixed with silk amino acids and creatine.

2-3 hours later before bed: cup of brown rice, 1/2 cup of black beans, 10 oz of egg whites, mixed together with about a 1/2 cup of black bean/corn salsa. plus a spinach salad/lowfat dressing, carrots, flaxseed/fishoil, and 24 oz of water

that last meal could change to: a cup of cottage cheese, brown rice chips with hummus, carrots, fishoil/flaxseed, and 24 oz of water

2-3 hours later I take a supplement that helps muscle recovery during sleep and puts me to sleep

Proof that Crossfit is unnecessary, overhyped, and in many instances unsafe.

There's a workout called Murph, which is dedicated to a fallen soldier, that is the following:

run 1 mile
100 pullups
200 push ups
300 air squats
run 1 mile

Almost identical to what this guy does once a week.

It's a pretty standard workout for crossfit, so I really don't get how what he's doing is proof that crossfit is bad. Hell if anything, this guy is a ringing endorsement for it.

Good job on the diet and workout.

I'm much simpler -- or lazier -- I'm just cutting out sugars and most carbs and getting back to climbing four or five times a week.

Workout routines annoy me, but I love climbing up and down rock faces.

Good on Hawgfaninc

Lately, I've been thinking about getting back into a workout routine. I used to workout regularly until back problems prevented it. ... I could handle his diet, no problem, and I think I could even handle most of the workout, or some variation of it, but there's no way I'm running that much or that far. I'm allergic to it. The only time I'm running is if the safety and/or well-being of my child is involved. Ask Hawgfaninc if walking fast is acceptable.
