Any update on water levels or when the cut is expected?
Posted on 8/23/16 at 8:52 am to LSU1018
Ridge road has seen no measurable change as of early this morning.

Manchac @ AB is falling pretty nicely now.
I wish we could open those damn locks.

I can't wait to get back in my house.

Well, she was wrong about the pump flows. 130k GPM total for all 3 pumps. 300k GPM on the cut.
15 billion gallons of water to lower it 4 ft.
That means 2"/day and 24 days to get it down 4 ft, with no rain.
Gonna be a long haul.

Meanwhile nothing off Bayou Fountain will drain?
Posted on 8/23/16 at 1:02 pm to Gsatterw
So is 8ft normal for that area?

I can't wait to shite on my own toilet again!

Current on Bayou Fountain appears to have stopped and may even be go backwards a little (could be wind). The Manchac gauge by Alligator appears offline now too so hard to monitor downstream. I would expect backflow to close to 13 feet followed by very slow decline with swamp as one. Hopefully no more rain.

Well, the water is about a foot over the half way mark on my 8' fence out back, and the water is usually a bit under that.
So 8' is about where it normally is. Currently at 13.07' as of 1 pm

I don't Iike cutting the road at all. Such a band aide temporary attempt to fix a problem.

I don't like how vulnerable it leaves us for hurricane season and even December. I guess we could file suit like Walker if it goes terribly bad.
