called his mom from school and said his chest was hurting and felt like his heart was beating fast. She brought him to primary care dr, and he said he had an irregular heartbeat. Then told he no sports or caffeine till he sees the cardiologist. This happened Tuesday. Dr. called in a favor and got him in for today otherwise it would have been 4-weeks.. he is 15 and wrestles so he is in pretty good shape..

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family. It may not be too serious of a situation. I think many people live very regular lives with this. Still, you're doing the right thing by having him checked out.

okay, just wondering.. i was drinking several red bull a day a year ago and thought i was having a heart attack one day. Went to dr, ended up having to stop the drinks.

and as noted above, and even though any heart issue is serious, i believe if it were "major" the doctor would have sent to ER immediately. Alot of ppl have irregular heartbeats, i have a friends who will skip beats. Im sure everything will be fine

Man that will freak you out at 15. Prayers sent.

Could be stress and anxiety related, which is why maybe there was a thought it was ok to wait a couple weeks to get him tested.

can DEFINITELY be this. It will make you feel as if your chest is about to explode. But if he did an ekg and showed irregular heartbeat then i doubt it. Again, irregular hearbeats can be absolutely nothing to worry about. But getting checked is important either way

While you can easily tell an irregular heartbeat from listening, I'm surprised he didn't do an EKG...for documentation and for the cardiologist to see at the very least. Prayers and good luck

what no ekg? Nevermind then.. i bet it was just anxiety. im no doctor but i dont think he would be able to tell he had irregular heartbeat from just listening. I bet it will be absolutely nothing once they do an ekg today
