Anyone know what's going on on old Perkins between Airline Highway and Highland? Traffic backed up both ways like it's not been in years.

Which way is it backed up? Heading towards Highland or towards airline?

Both. Going back to airline is from people turning back. Backed up to airline one way and at least to Santa Maria going toward airline. I would add at least 45 minutes

accident at the small river. Guy probably died. Both lanes blocked. There does not seem to be plans to move the car anytime soon. You're not going either way on that road this morning.

OT ballers stopping to critique the owner of the massive new house likely to blame.

The dick measuring likely spilled onto the road

It is amazing how one accident can cause a cluster like there was this morning in Ascension.

The collision had obviously been there a while and both sides were blocked off. No signs alerting drivers of the road closure until you drive more than a mile to the accident. Backtracked to 74, then 73 to get on 10. Airline was backed up for miles. 73 was backed up almost to 74. What a mess. Got to the office 90 minutes later than usual.

Screw idiot drivers.

Why does everyone in the AP use Old Perkins anyway? Airline to Highland to I-10 is 4 lanes all the way.

Two lanes each way. And today and often it is terrible. There are folks who live off Old Perkins

I'm one of them, so I guess that's why I'm whining.
The amount of traffic that turns off Airline onto Old Perkins each morning amazes me.
I'm hoping traffic will decrease once Hwy 73 construction is complete.

I've seen a dozen wrecks in that curve by the bridge and all are head on. I've had many people pass me in the morning between Bluff Road and the bayou only to slam on brakes because of traffic. When there are no wrecks it moves pretty good. People need to learn how to drive.
