I just got back from a New Year's weekend at Disney World with the wife and kids. So many young people spent all of their time looking down at their phones or rushing to post a shitty video or pic while on a ride on Snapchat or Instagram. I can't even count the times we would get slammed into by kids staring down. There were lots of high schools there due to cheer/football events and that weekend is notoriously popular for parents with teenagers. We watched an entire table of about 20 sit for almost an hour and maybe say 10 words between them. It was crazy. The thing that was most interesting is all of the foreign kids were doing the same thing.

tl;dr GET OFF MY LAWN.....

It isn't just kids man, adults are addicted to their cells and tablets as well

My MIL views my daughter's life through her 4.5" LED screen

It's incredibly sad

I bet there were more wheel chairs and scooters with old fat people than there were kids looking at cell phones.

Seems like you were "letting the world pass you by" watching underage kids for over an hour.

Also, those kids have access to the entire world's aggregate information and history as well as half the humans on earth on their phone. That's connecting with the world, not letting it pass them by....

Jk, they're just posting on the OT and snapchatting dick pics. :lol

There were a lot of old people in scooters for sure but not as mane lard asses. It's not their type of crowd. The high number of older folks is due to families taking everyone to be together for New Years. It's as hardcore as it gets in Disney. This is our 3rd time doing it and it doesn't get any easier. Thank God my wife is a fastpass ninja.

We were eating and talking about our surroundings. People watching is one of the best rides at Disney. At that same lunch we also watched a squirrel run off with almost half of a funnel cake right from under a kid's hand.

You sound creepy as frick....

You honestly sat somewhere for an hour watching 20 teenagers and took note of the amount of words shared between them???

It is a weird dichotomy - they'll have the most documented lives of any generation, but they'll lack the quantity of real experiences and memories of older generations.

Nope. I had 2 patient cancellations and I'm all caught up so I'm just killing time in the office until it's time to go get the kids from school.
