Our movements are tracked, our communications are monitored, genes will soon be modified and now this. Scary.

Did you take your meds today? At the right time? All of them?
Following your doctor’s orders can be cumbersome, especially if you’re supposed to take more than one pill a day.
That’s why scientists are working to develop microchips that can be preloaded with medications and implanted in our bodies, programmed to administer drugs at a given time, interval and/or dose. A doctor would theoretically be able to adjust the dose, or stop the drug altogether, by remote control.

this seems like a more advanced insulin pump.

Agree with Murray.

How is this bad? You get the proper dose of meds and on time?! The horror!

What's bad is that Obamacare requires some of this type of stuff, and when they expand, the costs of Health Care increase. All because we live in a nanny state where the gov't has to tell you to take your meds. FML.

All it would take would be a doctor accidentally typing 1000 mg instead of 100 mg or something. Doctors are already reluctant enough to try new things (or a lot of things in general) because of malpractice lawsuits...

I think its the remote control aspect that is scary. The possibilities to hack it are to great for me to want one in my body. The same a-hole that hacks into peoples wifi networks would be able to kill you with some keystrokes, potentially.

If there were a preset dosage, then that is fine, but the open ability to hack it is a deal-breaker.

No thanks. The last thing I want is some doctor fricking with my high.

And this is all voluntary...at least for now.

I'm not creeped out about this at all, but I would be concerned about a software glitch causing me to OD or something.

I'll take MY meds when I WANT to!

No one's gonna stop me from taking all my Oxycodone the first day.

Will this eliminate the opportunity to abuse prescription drugs? If so, I'm out.

I'm pretty sure they've got pacemakers that are remotely accessible like that.

Just my luck, I'll be giving presentation somewhere or serving in church, when my doctor, knowing this, decides to have a funny and remotely give me a Viagra dose.
