My buddy texted me about this last night...seems like such a weird thing for Playboy to choose to do.
If they thought sales were down before, then just wait till now. And yeah, it's actually a pretty solid/readable mag, but most of their sales stem from the photo spreads I assume.

yeah, they may have some cool articles now and then but NO ONE buys it for the articles. Heff done lost his mind. Someone needs to pull a rita benson on him.

Yea I'd imagine the whole selling a magazine to see naked women isn't working out well anymore with the huge online porn industry being free. Time to start putting out quality material or they won't be able to survive. I guess getting rid of full nudity will get them more readers in their minds, maybe people who didn't want nude magazines but wanted to read the articles. I doubt it works out though. Printed publications like magazines and newspapers are gone if they don't start minimizing their print business and maximizing their online presence

I've always bought it for the articles, actually.
Playboy is a really solid read most of the time. You can find naked chicks online to your heart's content, so there's no reason to buy a paper magazine to see naked chicks in it.
