Northshore homeowners - which way do you pay your property taxes?

I've always done it with my mortgage payments but I'm curious as to how it is when you pay it yearly? Anyone decide that was a good way to pay them?

we keep ours out of escrow

make sure you claim homestead exemption in St Tamm...it's not automatic, you have to fill out paperwork

Through my escrow. Also, pay attention to the reassessment years for your house and your neighbors. One year, ours went up a little higher than some or neighbors. We filed an appeal and they reduced it. It paid to pay attention.

Mine is also kept out of escrow. I also claim homestead exemption, my house and property is in rural northern St. Tammany. I'd probably be paying more property taxes if I live in Mandeville/Covington area where the property values are higher.
