Story with happy end
Big props to that officer for the way he handled this situation. Dude had some serious issues but the outcome was good for all because of the officers compassion.

officer Jamie Hardy on the left.

The man wasn't black so his survival is racist somehow. Am I doing it right?

Well played. It sounded like maybe the cop had a prior relationship of some sort with the man. It's just the way he was talking sounded like to me.

Yeah, but I'd like to see him try his luck on this one.

I have the ultimate respect for cops who are able and trained to interact with people this way. I've seen an officer calm someone in hysterics after an accident when others around couldn't. On the other hand, I recently heard one say that cops didn't need to learn communication skills because "we aren't social workers." Smh.
