A 2-month-old baby girl was killed by the family dog on Tuesday in San Marcos, according to officials.
Around 1:30 p.m. EMS and San Marcos Police responded to a report of an infant who was unresponsive and had suffered animal bites in the 1000 block of Sagewood.
The girl was transported to Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos, where she was pronounced dead.
During an investigation by SMPD and Child Protective Services, the father of the girl said he fell asleep when the baby was napping in an infant bouncer. He woke up around 20 minutes later to find the baby unresponsive and cold to the touch with obvious injuries.
Animal control impounded a German Shepherd found inside the home. The dog, a pet that has been with the family for eight years, was submissive when it was found. It will be impounded for at least 10 days after which a decision will be made on whether or not it will be euthanized.

Extremely unusual - most modern, well-bred GSDs - particularly a family pet - are fantastic with children and babies. I suspect there is more to the story here.

German Shepherds are aggressive. It's not hard to believe. But of course the German Shepherd will say a black pitbull did it.

I'm sure dog bites would be hard to fake, so it's either obvious the dog did it or the father will be found out soon enough.
20 minute nap and that happened?

My buddy has a GS that is registered and is the meanest sob you will ever meet. It doesn't matter the breed if the dog is incorrectly raised it can hurt someone.

I'm going to guess:
Dog wasn't spayed/neutered, was used for breeding, and was in heat.
Either that, or the dog has shown aggressive tendencies before. The odds of this "just happening" out of the blue are really low.
Irresponsible either way

German Shepherds are aggressive.
I had one that barked at everything that moved. In 13 years, he tore 1 kid's shirt (playing too roughly) and he growled exactly once - we were keeping my sisters' dogs (and they were fun loving, but spastic) - the boxer was jumping all around and bumped into Deuce Midnight (who was kind of a pansy) when he was about 12 and Deuce said, "Ow!"
I wasn't there but they tell me the growl was really low and guttural - like how you'd expect a wolf to sound. Everyone froze. After a couple of seconds, Deuce and the other dogs started moving slowly and everyone got along again after that.

You don't ever hear about his kind of stuff happening with cats.

German Shepherds have high TRAINABILITY, they don't come to you trained. If you don't put the time into it they will become unruly and aggressive. They are known to bite even if they are well trained. Have you ever seen clips of reporters next to police K-9's and the dog just practically rips her face off? And those are dogs with hundreds of hours of formal, professional training.

Cuz they're too damn quiet.

Don't trust the family pet with young children. Period.
They are animals. It doesn't matter how sweet or well trained they are. Leaving your kid unattended with a dog is asking for trouble.

This guy gets it. Even a Chihuahua can kill and disfigure a baby.

this story not near as entertaining to the tards on here because it doesn't involve a pit bull and black folks

Cats are way better than dogs.

You'd think you'd wake up to the sounds of a German Shepard attacking an infant. Waking up 20 minutes later on your own makes it hard to believe you were sleeping soundly enough to miss the attack.
