Damn, I just started listening to it. It seems like a solid alternative to 870 all the time.

690 is also the flagship for Tulane athletics. As of 2 days ago they were still pimping the Curtis Johnson show for the upcoming season.

Deke and Bobby are all that's left, huh?

No. Please God, no.

The state of sports radio in New Orleans is really sad.

It's pathetic. It really is. New Orleans has an NFL franchise and an NBA franchise and has one local sports talk segment hosted by two mentally challenged, unprofessional fricking retards for a couple of hours each afternoon.

I like having the option of ESPN on 1350 (except for afternoon drive with Tom Fitzmorris, can't he do that somewhere else?), Yahoo on 690, and Fox on 106.1. 1061 is turning to CBS in January, so it'll be all new shows. I really only like Petros & Money on Fox, but I can podcast that.

You serious Clark? How in the frick would religious get more listeners than sports talk? Unbelievable.

I may not get more, but if it only gets marginal amount fewer, they'll probably make more money. I can't imagine it's cheap to license with Yahoo sports radio and pay a lot of local talent.

It's also probably tough to get sponsorship with 870 having the Saints, LSU, and Hornets broadcast. 870 is filled with retards on the air, but people still want to be associated with those brands.

I don't think 690 pays the on air talent. But I could be wrong about that.

Ahh, I wasn't sure if they paid them or if the talent rented time like in Baton Rouge.

Get that sat radio turned on.

Deke and Bobby shouldn't be on a 5000 watt dawn to dusk AM station in Little Rabbit, AL much less a 50,000 watt clear channel outlet in an NFL city.

I'm just glad Karre Johnson and his dumbass ego will be off the air for a while. Maybe he can go join some of the loons on 990 AM and then really become a nothing.

Maybe they will broadcast on 104.9. They simulcast with 690.
