Never been before. Are the ships fairly accessible? Sounds great but curious if there are any unanticipated complications before I bring young kids down for day. TIA

Crowds can be a problem, everything else is not a worry...

Obviously don't bring anything you wouldn't bring into a stadium. You're allowed to take pix on certain decks so take advantage of that. When they say to turn off your cell phone, do so.

They will not let you onto the USS Wasp if you are carrying a firearm (even concealed). Even if you are a federal agent. At least they wouldn't two years ago.

Can you bring an umbrella stroller aboard? Or do I have to carry the baby once leaving the car?

Nope..All strollers are left before you board...

Hope you've already gone, because todays tours probably won't be happening

I brought a stroller on the WASP yesterday. A few people did, but most just parked them.

The larger ships may have different rules..

The DDGs have no room for them

We went on the WASP and then brought the kids to the aquarium. I think the WASP is best suited for kids, especially younger ones. It has vehicles, choppers, and other things for them to interact with. The other ships you actually go through more so a stroller doesn't work like you said.

We went aboard both those destroyers. The tour of the James E. Williams went "inside the skin" whilst aboard the Cole, we only got the above decks tour. You got great access.

But while on board, the officers returned, so they announced them "Arriving" with the usual peals of the ship's bell. THEN, they announced "USS Cole Hero. Arriving." It was related to us that it was someone who was deployed aboard when the attack in Aden occurred.

THAT was cool.
