Death penalty will be sought against the lone 18 year old (McBride).

Likely sentenced to death at 18 years old. What a waste. I'm not saddened by the punishment. I am saddened that a young man chose to live his life this way. 18 years old, sitting in a stolen car shooting a 6 year old child in the head. When you run it all back and think about how everyone involved got to this point it really pisses you off in regard to the culture. An innocent child is dead and a young "man" will be dead in due time thanks in part to the circumstances of his upbringing steering him that way. I don't take the burden of choice and responsibility off his shoulders. But the influences (or lack of good ones) in his upbringing got him down this path and thats an all too often occurrence for young black men.

So being part of a car theft as a 17-18 year old is something we should kill someone over?

Yes. Felony-murder rule.

That's just as likely as any other situation, and more likely than all 3 idiots getting out and making a democratic decision.

I hate this happened as much as anyone, but the last thing I want is to spend tax payer money on 3 hots and cot for life for 2 idiots because they stole a car and one of their buddies pulled a gun out and shot the kid in the back seat for no reason.

You don't understand the law apparently. If someone dies while you are committing a felony, it doesn't matter if you pulled the trigger.

If you do nothing to stop it or don't report it, then in the eyes of the law you are OK with what happened.

Had one one of the 'good guys' reported it, I'd bet real money that he WOULD NOT be facing a capital murder charge.

I cant really find anything about him on Google. I keep hearing his name and that he is high up in a gang but that's all I've gathered. That and he is the grandfather of the kid. What is the story on this guy? Is he a known killer or something?

But I've been there in HS and college, and you go to a convenience store and the next thing you know your friend walks out with some weed or acid he just bought from someone he saw in there. Its very easy to get caught up with something, that's all I'm saying.

Yea, nothing like that's ever happened to me ... like, never ... like, not even close.

Troll? Just be honest. I'm tired.

Skip the trial, put them in Gen Pop at the state's worst prison and be sure to read their charges aloud at every roll call and make sure they get plenty of outside and recreation time.

Karma will handle the rest.

letting them go would be the worst possible punishment at this point, the victims grandfather is not a very nice guy.

They are going to have to be housed on the dark side of the moon if they expect to live more than one week after trial.

I don't think you read that right. I was saying to let them out of protective custody and fend for themselves in general population of a prison.

The sad part is this kid came from a really bad family. Cute kid. Father has three aggravated assault convictions. Arrested for shooting into a car last year. Several drug dealing convictions. Uncle was arrested for beating his wife last year but friendly judge let him off. Grandfather owned a lounge that was shut down for too much violence and too many shootings. Known as a real bad dude in every sense of the word. Kid's cousin is awaiting trial for murdering the manager of Party City a few years ago. Then a mother who has a kid with this hoodlum and goes to a bar on a school night and leaves kid in car with engine running at 1:00 AM or so.

Still no decision on the death penalty for the adult in the group?

What is taking the ineffective DA so long?

I see things like this posted a lot in reference to people who kill or even molest kids...but do we REALLY know if this happens in prison or not? Any chance it is simply folk lore and these guys really aren't treated that much different than all of the other POS in there?

On the most part no, they all lie about their charges anyway, in this particular case they are fricked, they just murdered one of the states most violent men's 6 year old grandson.

Guest announced that he would seek the death penalty against the 18 year old.

The kid's uncle was shot in his business late last week. And a guys head was found on a porch a couple days later. Rumblings are they are all related.
