And likewise, if I read up to page 2 on a thread, then come back in an hour and it's on page 6, there should be a button I can click that takes me right to the first unread post on page 2 since I was last in that thread.

Sherdog does this on their forums and it makes their forums sssssooooo much better. You don't even need to click a button, when you click on the thread it automatically takes you to the last post you read.

I agree better search. Especially the fact that it only goes back 2 weeks. A 2 week search is utterly useless on boards like food & drink or movie/tv.

The search function on here is PERFECT but people just don't know how to use it so they bitch and moan. When you click the search button you need to then click "more options" and then on the right side is a "search using Google" bar. If you search using that it goes back forever and is absolutely flawless, I have never not been able to find exactly what I was looking for.

the up/down votes exist are to increase the sites click per page which drives advertising dollars.

The page doesn't reload or refresh when you up/down vote someone so I tend to agree with you.

Downvoting you to confirm....

It is. They also have a notification system just like FB where it alerts you to replies and when you click on the alert it takes you right to the reply which is so nice. It also alerts you to upvotes and shows you who upvoted you.

Exactly. Speaking of downvotes we should be able to change our vote. Sometimes when I am on my phone I'll click the wrong button by accident because they are so damn close and it pisses me off when it's on certain threads.

naw, its actually pretty terrible. it could be so much better

If i know the author and the proper keyword, it shouldn't give me results from other authors

if i know the key word and search that subject, results shouldnt hit on that word if it is in someone's profile (say in their "location" or "interest" section of their profile ).

IF i know said post was on the rant, i should be able to only search that board.

why isnt the "more options" search engine the default search engine? the other one yields results about 5% of the time. Such a wasted step

those are only a few of the problems

I used to be able to change mine early on. I don't know if TD changed something or if it was me changing phones/different cookie settings maybe?

If it's only one word it will search those but if you can remember 2 words, especially if they are consecutive and can put them in quotes, it's perfect.

Two reply to buttons;
One that allows you to reply to the person that you click on, as I did here.
And one that allows you to reply to the OP, like I wanted, but it was 5 pages back.

Down votes would provide an electric shock to the poster, and would get progressively stronger as more are accumulated.

If you start a thread about someone's alleged misconduct on the help board and the admins determine that the complaint was frivolous, then the poster who started the thread should receive a ban.

Would like to be able to block or ignore certain posters like you can on pay recruiting sites.
