How does a third grader even know what suicide is?

Having a son close to that age really makes it hit home. I couldn't imagine my son feeling that much pain and thinking this was the only answer.

Only way to stop bullying is to kick the bully's arse or have someone do it.

You can only attempt to stop what you see and what a kid tells you. I can't tell you how many times we've had kids at work where bullying had gotten to the point of really causing some emotional harm and nobody (not the parents or the teacher or admin) knew about it because it was going on in places like social media and outside of the classroom (especially kids from school doing the bullying around the home after school).

I tell parents all of the time if they don't feel we're doing enough, that Kentucky has an anti-bullying law where they can file charges if it gets to that point. In a school, unfortunately, there is only so much you can do.

It's an awful situation for sure. But it's not as simple as pointing fingers at one group of people either.

And that's what is really messed up in schools. Your kid gets bullied, so you teach your kid to stand up for himself and kick a bully's arse then it's your kid that gets expelled. You are left with the only option of teaching your kids to be a snitch.
