nice hotels in Vegas

Are Belaggio and the Venetian still top end? I haven't been in a few years. 12 years ago the NYNY was fun, but on my last visit a few years ago it was run down. Taking the wife to Vegas for the first time and don't want to be surprised with a run-down resort. The stratosphere is down to $30 a night, yikes!

Venitian, Cosmopolitan and Aria are all nice. Only been in the Wynn once, it was very nice, a cut above them all.

I am partial to the Cosmopolitan myself, I was in nearly every hotel in late January and liked this one the best.

The Wynn is fricking ridiculous. I've also stayed at the Palazzo and that's a great place too....all suites I believe. I think the Palazzo location is slightly better since it's just a bit closer to the rest of the strip.

Stayed at the Palazzo last month. Really liked it. Will try Wynn next time.

Stayed at the Venetian last June. The hotel was top notch and the pool furniture was smoking hot.

nyny doesn't suck balls, its just not as nice as the other places listed here. the tier 1 vegas hotels have all been mentioned in this thread, tier 2 would be caesars, mandalay bay and maybe the mirage, and nyny would be tier 3. NYNY is nicer than luxor, excalibur, flamingo, ballys, etc.

I group NYNY with Luxor and Excalibur. All of those three gave off a very dead vibe IMO.

NYNY was dead a few years ago, I'm sure it's worse now. The good thing was they had $5 blackjack that paid 3:2

I agree the nyny casino is kind of odd and doesn't have a lively vibe, but the hotel and the rooms are significantly nicer than the luxor and excalibur.
