Currently constructing the second-largest pump station system in the world to protect New Orleans and some surrounding areas. Largest in the world is in the Netherlands.

Pumps are great, but they are worthless if no one is there to operate them... Im looking at you Jefferson Parish...

only thing I don't agree with is the destruction of the Atchafalaya delta. That can be easily saved by destroying the water redistribution station where it meets the Mississippi river

On paper Houston has more overall violent crime per capita than New Orleans does.

And you know those stats reported by the NOPD are reliable.

I think I read that paper in college. Basically the worst of it would be loss of drinking water for New Orleans and the dredging of the silt deposits from the head drop of the Miss. Add to that all of the petrochemical corridor from Plaquemine to ORCS sucking in sea water rather than fresh water, and the havoc that would cause.

Yeah let me know when they actually get a model right.

If even they are right that gives us 35 yrs to restore wetlands, build levees, etc the Dutch have been keeping half their country dry for a thousand years so we can keep NOLA & south La dry if we want.
