Just heard on WWL. Not designated through Louisiana yet but it is in planning stages.
Here is an article about the road in Texas.

Master plan.
The highway is being pushed as a major military benefit.

Would do wonders for traffic on I-10. Too bad we'll probably be able to teleport by the time it happens.

So basically Hwy 28 which is already expanded and never has any traffic.

I understand the interstate was built for military purposes, but come on.

The article is about a proposed I-14, which is completely different than the route on that map.

Doesn't Hwy 28 just run from Leesville to Alexandria?

Yes, and any logical route would follow 84, which is already a US highway. But politicians.

Leesville to HWY 84 in Archie, between Jena and Jonesville

Yes and no. Runs east almost to Jonesville. West of Leesville, it becomes 8.

Should be done by 2065 or so.

Yeah, forgot about all that. Actually took 65 to 84 to 28 within the last year going from Vicksburg to Leesville.

This plan also is US 80 in Alabama. It's a comparitively rarely used highway as it is now, but believe it or not, this interstate proposition is racially motivated. US 80 goes through several of the predominantly black counties (that is a parish, to stuck in Louisiana types) and several black leaders have pushed to have 80 upgraded to interstate standards in order to bring in industry and jobs to the area.

I can't wait to drive a tractor on I-14 from Brookhaven, MS to Augusta, GA for the Masters.
