If it was just me and my wife, I don't care if he has loud speakers on. I was just worried for my kids. I am not going to call cops for simple things. I might get a white noise sound machine for my kids room.
Since I am not from US originally. I was just wondering how you guys deal with it normally.

Well, it's probably illegal. That's all I'm saying.

He should be a good neighbor and get the battery powered ones. My uncle built these gas ones for years and they are indeed loud as hell and completely annoying. High pitched as hell.

Back over the damn things. Cars have the right away over toys. Problem solved.

The battery ones are way slower and less fun than the gas ones.

Put a fan in the room, something to have a steady level of noise.

Absurd to think everyone should change their activities to fit yours.

I want you to think about what calling 911 is gonna sound like.

Can I get the police to my house? My neighbor is driving his remote controlled cars up and down my street and its waking my child up.

You are gonna sound extremely stupid.

I doubt they waste their time coming out.

Police are used for criminal stuff, not telling adults to quit playing with remote controlled cars

Am I the only one that thinks it's strange that adults play with remote control cars?

You can't compare an RC car to a dirt bike. It's a bit different.

While not as loud as a dirt bike, the gas powered RC cars can be pretty freaking loud.

That's true. They are more neighborly though. Must be a trashy neighborhood.

To each their own.

I don't see the thrill in it but I have driven them when I was in HS because I had a friend and he and his dad were into them. I could see how someone could have fun with them but it is a pretty expensive hobby and not my thing.

I never said call the cops. I said "accidentally" back over one.

At 7pm I'm sure it's not in violation of noise ordinances. But I'm pretty sure the cops are the ones to handle this when there is a noise violation.

How do you live so close to the road or to your neighbor's driveway to where RC cars can be heard from inside your home? Do you live in an urban area? If so, wouldn't car traffic and city noise already be the norm?

Yea your first link is one with no muffler. Of course that's going to be loud.

They're really no louder than a gas trimmer.

It's not very neighborly of him if it's that loud but remind me what you are worried about here with the kids? What is the worst case if they don't sleep at 7?
