I paid cash for my wife's treatment for years because she was uninsurable.
just call and ask to speak to someone before you go, explain you are paying cash, and ask for the prices on everything you plan to be examined or treated with

you'll be surprised how helpful they'll be if they are a good practice

as noted above, cannabis can be a huge help for many people. it was a godsend for us

My mom had it. It caused her to make shite posts on an message board and leave my dad for a cousin

well if making shitty posts is a clear sign of it then I have it for sure. Just ask the OT, they will vouch for me, on my shitty post expertise. lol.

As for leaving my son's dad for a cousin, well I have done something even more "Jerry Springerish" that that.

One day i will tell you how I met my bf and you will agree that even Jerry Springer would say " naww, that shite is too crazy for my show"

Most annex MRI centers will charge around $500 for an MRI. With MS you need a brain MRI.

Rheumatologist? Find one in independent practice. You may have to drive to a smaller suburb town.

Apply for disability bc you will need it.

No I'm in NW Arkansas. I'm told I'll probably end up going to Tulsa or Little Rock which is a 2 hour drive for me. Apparently there just aren't a lot of Rheumatologists and its hard to get new patients in. I'm just getting started in this process it may change for me since I'm a new diagnosis with a pretty rare disorder (especially for my age) and I may get in quicker.

Luckily I have the cash to get this process and diagnosis started. I am holding off on applying for disability so that I have my official diagnosis. I am also looking into the expanded medicaid route.

MS qualifies for the medical MJ under the law but it is only in the non-smokable form (oil, I guess). It also has to have the lowest THC amount possible.

I have been on it for seizures and will be going to colorado to stock up on the better stuff and to find a connection who can mail it to me.

I honestly need it first thing in the am because i wake up in agony and it helps ease the pain till the pain meds (non narcotic) kick in.

I have MS, and you are generally treated by a Neurologist, not a rheumatologist.

These are independent imaging facilities not associated with hospitals as far as I know, and my be willing to work with you on cost.

Imaging Center of Louisiana on Summa Blvd, they are a independent center and have excellent radiologist.

Bluebonnet Imaging, they also own Central Imaging if that is easier for you to get to.

Surgical Specialties on Bluebonnet, they have a imaging center.

Avoid LA MRI, and Baton Rouge Imaging.

What has your primary MD been treating you with?
And as other have said - you need a Neurologist not a Rheumatologist.

Guys, stop wasting your time. She hasn't been diagnosed with anything. Just a crazy lady looking for attention.

Well bless your heart. I'm so glad you know so much more about me than I do. I don't want attention your attention, I want answers.

I want the ability to be able to be a teacher again and have the energy to keep up with my young students and to not have to worry that i will pass out and terrify them.

I want the ability to drive and not have to worry that I will pass out while driving and kill innocent people.

I want the ability to wake up without being in agonizing pain for the first few hours.

I want the ability to be able to go places and not being able to because I know it will be too exhausting.

I want to be able to be honest and not just pretend that I am being lazy when I decline invitations to parties and vacations.

Now as for the "crazy lady" comment, well that just amuses me. Nothing wrong with being a crazy lady, especially when you do it with the style that I do. So I do thank you for that compliment. I will do my best to live up to your crazy lady expectations.

And I will say a prayer that you or someone you love never comes down with a disabling illness.

at this point spontaneous combustion might be a better deal than MS. At least it is instant and makes a helluva memorable way to go.

Thanks. I meant to say Neurologist but my brain typed out Rheumatologist. Hopefully he can do it in the office and I am hoping that cash will make it cheaper.

Sorry to hear that. I'm in need of a Rheumatologist too (for a condition called Polymyalgia Rheumatica) apparently around here it takes months to get in to see one. Good luck to you.

Thanks. I hope your condition improves and that you find a good Rheumatologists.

Dr April Erwin at the neuromefical center is very good as is Dr Bridget Bagert with Ochsner in New Orleans. They are both MS specialists. I have knowledge of MS and you should know this isn't a death sentence and with the right medication can be very manageable.
