Did you go by Wedge Kyes? Steer clear of Brian Harris unless you want to be screwed over, taken advantage of, and then have it break again in a few weeks. Brian Harris is all sorts of suck.

2013? How's about you take it to the dealership that sold it to you? Did you mean 2003?

Have fun on the butt rape if it's the evaporator. $2000 labor for a $100 part. Though hopefully they've fixed that problem in 10 years.

Try about $4000 for labor and parts. They have to take out the entire dash. Probably more if this is an SUV. My service adviser thought my evaporator might be the problem last year and got all the work drawn up (06 3-series) for the worst case scenario. She and I (and the techs) all noted that there wasn't any odor (typically accompanies an evaporator failure) and they figured out I just needed a dye test for a leak (no leak) and a recharge. Still $500.

I had mine done at an indie shop, so labor wasn't as high as the stealership.

To OP, I always used Jeff Cobb. He was a bit of an a-hole, but he knows his stuff and he also never tried to upsell me on BS.

BMW? Wonderful performance and eye candy until the warranty runs out. Get rid of the vehicle BEFORE this happens.

Have you tried recharging it?

I inherited a BMW X3 when I married my wife, it's on the selling block currently. Her AC was hot and I paid $30 for a recharging can and leak sealant at AutoZone and it's worked great for a month now.

But frick bmws.

I've had mine for 9 years and my problems have been minimal. Great great cars produced by a proud company.

Exactly. It's funny how you can always tell the difference between people who buy BMWs because they're enthusiast and those who buy them solely for the white and blue propeller logo.

The thing about beamers is that you upkeep them to prevent failures. I get the A service from an Indy on our 2009. There is no reason an auto of this quality can't be reliable for 10, 15, 20 years into ownership.

I owned a 1980 528i in 2000, and I fully expect to own our 2009 528i in 2029. Naturally aspirated inline 6 with a manual transmission...bombproof.
