Need driving directions help, From NOLA - Monroe

I have to drive from NOLA to Monroe & Shreveport tomorrow for work. Then back to NOLA tomorrow night. I realize that this will be a very long day, but I need some help with the best route.
I was planning on taking I-55N towards Jackson and stopping in Monroe first. Then take I-20W to Shreveport & Bossier City.
few questions....
*** Where should I exit 55? Go all the way to 20 near Jackson or exit earlier?
*** Once I leave Shreveport, should I just take I49S back to NOLA, or go back to I-55S?
Any help is much appreciated....

I49 TO HWY190 IN O0ELOUSAS. 190 TO BR (I10). I10 TO NOLA
CHECK TRAFFIC..BR BAD STAY ON I49/ turns into hwy90 TO NOLA

you've pretty much got the fastest route...stay on the interstate and you'll probably be best.
you can cut the corner from Utica to Vicksburg if you want, but I am not sure it saves much time and is a pretty dangerous road.
hell of a lot of driving, man....be careful...

I suggest when you get off on one of the exits to get gas or food, that you also pick up some tampons.

Like someone else said, 55 to Jackson 20 to Monroe. Stop in Vicksburg and get tamales. You'll be glad you did.

Take I-10 West to Orange and you can see Monroe from there.
Ask a local for directions if you need guidance.

You may be better off getting off at exit 72 and heading to Utica and then Vicksburg because of the construction on I-55
