We still will be pigeonholed because they will say we don't have the right NEC. Like I've reported my whole career as a linguist, but they won't give me 9138. They probably still won't because I didn't go through some other school.

I'm 14 years active duty so far and here's the general consensus from everyone I work with. A lot of rates had ended with the word "man" and since we are a PC country and the govt can do whatever we have to fall in line.
Aside from now losing our rates nothing else has truly changed. So since we are letting trannys in we need gender neutral job titles so they gave us #s.

Go read the instruction in its entirety before you speak incorrectly. All they have and to this point is take your rate name away and gave it a number. Now in the future it will be completely NFC driven but for now all they did was change the title to a number that is still your rate but we can't call it that now lol.
So example you know the car is a blue ford f150 but the navy wants you to call it b1201. Lol
