Hell, sorta like the picture in back to the future but instantaneously, obviously.

Except Marty (and the others who were 'in' on the secret like Jennifer and Dr. Brown, and Biff in one of the alternate realities) knew the alternate past and had to re-learn the changed timeline.

Awesome.

Though, frankly, the scariest part is that it was discovered by accident. We're going to destroy the multiverse without even knowing what we're doing.

Vulcans better get here quick to put a rein on us.

I'm no mathalete, but in this arrangement NASA is talking about the speed of light really didn't change, right? What changed was the road it traveled, which was bundled up, like an AM radio wave instead of being straight.

Amirite?

time when going at a walking pace is the same speed as if you were traveling at 100x the normal speed of light.

That's not what relativity states, so... Good try.

You can rectify the grandfather paradox with the multi-verse theory

So now the military can create missiles that go faster than the speed of light!

I don't think a warp bubble goes against Einstein's theory. Nothing In Einstein's theory says space and time cannot be warped. The object itself is not moving faster than the speed of light. It is impossible because it isn't massless. But warping the space around it I believe allows for traveling vast distances in space without disproving relativity

So when are the Vulcans arriving to make first contact?

Well, we need a space craft for testing the warp drive to attract their attention.

So what happens to planets (or anything else nearby) when that drive is activated?
I'm guessing it has be outside our solar system before warping out. That would mean months (years?) to get out of the solar system.

It would have to violate Newtons Third Law

Considering the speed of light is now known to not be a constant. Than that equation is defunct.

The research paper will still be released and celebrated somehow.
