I can remember going to -
Canyon Land - somewhere near Fort Payne, Alabama. This was a small park at Little River Canyon. All I can really remember is riding a chair lift down to the bottom of the canyon.
Opryland - Nashville, Tennessee
Went here a few times, I remember that It didn't seem to have as many rides as Six Flags in Atlanta. I did get my dad to buy me a coon skin cap there that I still have today.
Kiddieland - Birmingham, Alabama
This was a very small park at the fair grounds that kept rides going even when the fair wasn't in town. In the 1980's they added a roller coaster with a loop.
Astro World - Houston, Texas
This was a Six Flag park. I think we bought season tickets and took our kids several times the last year of operation. They always had great concerts, which were free with the admission price. I was always surprised how uncrowded the park was, especially being in a city the size of Houston.

The Hangman was legendary. Used to take a trip there from Alpine Camp in Mentone.
I will submit Hamel's in Shreveport. Sucks it's not there anymore.

I bought season passes to Jazzland the first year it opened. I went once and never went back.

Something about abandoned or overrun amusement parks really gives me the heebie jeebies.

I haven't been to Panama City Beach in decades, but I use to go to that one also.

2 years ago they attempted to bring it back near the old location right by pier park. Spent millions building it, was open for ONE season, then closed. Now it's covered in vines and weeds
