My triennial thread about RR Cassidy Inc. in Prairieville

Every time I pass that place on Airline in Prairieville, I'm always very impressed with how neat & clean everything is. And it has been that way for many years.

I've always wondered how they get the border between the grass and the gravel parking lot to look perfectly straight without any visible separation.

Pass it all the time. Always wondered what they did, tried looking them up and they have no website.

I've seen them working on repairing or maintenance of Railroad right-of-ways and railbeds. The Union employees of the RRs are so expensive that they (the RRs) are able to (or forced to) more economically out-source some of this work.
The "RR" in the name is probably the principal's name "Rudolph R. Cassidy" although it might also be a pun.
EDIT: Maybe they have NOTHING to do with RRs.

I've heard they are one of the most respected deep foundation contractors around the country.

They are a legit utility contractor that do deep piles and other work for utility/transportation companies in the right of way.
I hear the dude is super anal and it shows based on the condition of the yard and trucks. But I've never met the guy.
A few years back though there was a Cummins diesel engine hanging from one of their cranes with a sign on it that said something about POS, no warranty, etc... Must have had the owner pissed off.
Obviously, a pretty obsessed dude but the condition of their equipment and yard is legit.

Knew a guy that used to work there. Said they were required to wash the trucks weekly and vacuum daily and were very meticulous about parking them in their right spot. Said it was a good company but definitely ocd.

This is true and they are all over the country - with more work out of state than in - which is probably why most don't know much about them.

Hard to believe you can be competitive dragging all that shite all over the country.
It seems that the drayage would eat you alive eventually.
Maybe that type of work is handed out to a select dependable few and not bid competitively.

Awesome display of the American flag suspended between two cranes after 9/11 is something I will never forget.

Owner is ex-military and OCD as frick. I've never worked there but I used to sell them hydraulic hose and fittings for their equipment years ago. Good place to work and the man pays well from what I understand, but if you leave a mess on his yard or in one of his trucks you will be fired on the spot. He is rich as frick too from that business, word is that he pays cash for every bit of that equipment on his yard but I don't know if that's true or not

Is this the place next to Winn Dixie?

Gonna have to street view this.

Well I'm sure a lot of it is negotiated as well as not a great many do it to begin with so competitively bidding wouldn't be too difficult.
And I believe they have staging areas and a couple other yards, although it is just what I've been told.

I have and had several relatives working there. The owner, I believe played football for LSU. Came from some money, but is self-made. Started with a tractor and some right-of-ways. He always keeps his guys working, even if they are between jobs, so you will see supervisors to helpers cleaning the shop, equipment, grading limestone, working at his house, etc. Once or twice a year he goes through everything and if it doesn't have a place he will throw it away. Doesn't matter what it is. He spends almost as much on painting and making his equipment look the way it does as he does on the equipment itself. A lot of guys have worked there, many couldn't do it. Always out of town and many don't believe in doing the dirty work, cleaning, etc. If you do though, he is very loyal and will try to keep you working no matter what.

I've got a couple of friends that have been working there for quite a while. It's never ceased to amaze me how clean they kept there shite.
