My Restless Legs

80% of the time they are relatively chill and don't cause me any concern.
19% of the time they are noticeable and annoying, but far from debalitating. Nothing that a heavy squats or lunges workout can't substantially sedate.
1% of the time they are angry, possibly coked up, and actively trying to commit crimes or otherwise cause disorder all across, over, and around the land upon which they reside. frickers. A true menace to society they are when they get in this mood.
I ain't the only one, right?

Try sleeping with full blown attack mode restless legs.

I found that taking magnesium citrate helped with that, but I'm not a doctor.

Me too, as you can see from the time of this post. Mine comes and goes and is sometimes more miserable than others with no explanation. What's worse is explaining to those that don't suffer from it how shitty it really is. It seems like no one believes RLS is a real thing unless they're suffering from it.

Yeah, I'm thankful the significantly uncomfortable times are relatively rare. They're also relatively random, though, and I have no idea what confluence of factors causes it.

Explain how this syndrome manifests itself. I've heard of it but what does it actually do to someone physically? I've never known anyone who suffers from this.

Imagine you did about 1,000 squats, lunges, and knee-highs in a day, combined with your lower half drinking 6 red bulls. And now imagine all that suddenly bearing it's full effect at night, usually about the time you're ready for bed. It's like the soreness caused by an extensive "leg day" at the gym plus constant kicking, tossing, and turning because you can never get your legs truly comfortable. Sometimes they can be relatively comfortable and the kicking around still occurs. It's not uncommon for the soreness to carry over to the next day and night, when the restlessness starts right back up.
ETA: the best "cure" I've ever found for it was oxycodone after I had a dental surgery, unfortunately that's not something you can regularly get your hands on. But damn it was nice on several levels, if not just for RLS.

Long time sufferer here. I have found that a combination of 3 Extra Strength Tylenol and ZzzQuil (sp) keeps me sane. However it just takes the edge off my wife says because I still twitch for hours. Bless her she lives with it as much as I do.

It gets so bad on me at times that I cramp up. Get woke up out of a dead sleep with that.
At that point, I have to get up and down 2-3 ozs of vinegar. After a few minutes, the cramps pass.

I was taking lisinopril(*spell?) for high blood pressure. It caused rls bad. I had to switch meds.

The only way I can describe it is that it feels like the bottom of my feet are going to blow off. The feeling of pressure MAKES me move my legs. I have had it move up into my arms, and I've read that some people get it in their faces.
Severe lower back problems are the cause of mine, from what my back surgeon told me. However, my son now has it, so I think genetics are to blame, too. Prescription meds (seizure type) are the only thing that helps.
