So I'm in college and going into my junior year. I just bought a truck and my parents decided it would be best to put it in their name so the insurance would be a little cheaper. I pay way more than the amount of my note each month.

So now that it's in their name and I'm home for the summer working, mom feels the need to tell me where I can and can't go. Today I told her I wasn't coming home, and she decided to come pick up my truck.

I pay for all of my stuff. Clothes, vehicle, phone. I'm currently getting a ride home from a friend. Safe to say my mom is bat shite crazy.

And why does your mom have a set of keys to your truck anyways? Are you that dumb or just that soft serve?

I'm willing to bet your parents paid a large part of that truck off when you bought it

Tuition, room & board, insurance?

But yeah, that's messed up. Tell them "I guess I won't pay the note on it anymore if I can't drive it."

Because I didn't feel like my parents would go insane. If I needed something they would have keys just incase.

It's a control thing, some parents will hold things over you to the fullest extent they can sometimes when they have control over a thing. That being said, it's best to put up with it and be non-confrontational no matter how frustrating the situation is. Chances are giving a reaction is exactly what is desired. Bide you're time and then separate yourself completely in terms of financial independence when you can. Things will normalize eventually.
