Only a loser would do this at someone else's wedding. If your best man is a loser then that's your problem, and you're probably a loser as well. Sounds like a bunch of losers trying to figure out where they went wrong.

That would end a friendship. It would have taken all the self control I have not to punch "John" in the face at the reception.

Also, "$40,000 for his half of the wedding"? It was an $80k wedding? Total waste of money.

Probably fair. My best friend is already married, but I couldn't imagine him doing this at any future wedding that I may have even if he wasn't.

Yea that's incredibly selfish and fricked up if real. No real friend would do that to someone on one of the biggest days of their life.
