My Aussie mix had her heart finally give out a couple of weeks ago. It always sucks, but even dog lovers have that one dog that really knocks us to our knees when the time comes.

The seizure your dog had wasn't technically a seizure. It was probably the result of her heart not being able to supply her brain with enough oxygen. You did all you could do. The cocktail of meds work great for a while, but it was time.

So sorry for your loss. I can tell she was loved.

Can't imagine losing any of my girls. Hate to even think about it.

I hope the pain gives way to memories quickly.

That sucks, man. I took a bereavement day the last time I went though this, my boss could not understand (no longer work there, assholes). She looks like a sweetheart, sorry for your loss.

Hate when this happens. What a great looking pup, I hope you realize what a great life they had because of you.

Lost my 14 year old dog a few months ago with no warning.

Looking back on it, I think it is better that way. Sucks to see your little buddy go downhill. Sorry for your loss.

That's the common cocktail. From my understanding, 18 months is on the higher end once they start. Sounds like the fluid build up became a real problem at the end. Once the Lasix can't flush enough fluids & those seizures start, then you know it's time.

Sounds like she might have enjoyed you more the last 5 years than you did her. You did all you could.
