The Aurora Borealis is amazing in pictures, but there's no comparison to seeing it in person. I hope you had a great show!

Ive been trying to figure it out as well. I didn't see it in the sky at the time the picture was being made. It's in another picture too but a little different shape

interesting...I would suspect some static discharge or something like that, but there seems to be a much lighter one higher in the photo..


also, I have a question about the northern lights. When I see them on tv, they seem to be moving much more quickly than I would expect...almost like the tv speeded them up to make them look cool. was there a lot of movement when you saw them?

Doubtful. A friend of a friend just flew round trip for under 500 from Portland to Iceland.

I flew to Anchorage from Portland last October and it was more than that.
