If you don't think AI is a potential "problem affecting the entire spectrum of humanity", you probably don't understand AI.

Perhaps you could get Hawking to help you repair your sarcasm detector.

Didn't seem like sarcasm, considering he followed up with:
quote:
Please show me where that says he has military experience, experience with weapons, etc. He has no experience in this arena. It's like me telling someone how to wire their house because I have an MBA
He was thrown in there because he's a big name

Ah, Okay. I read that a while ago it would seem. Maybe Hawking can help me with my memory.

What's your opinion on chemical weapons?

AI---Allen Iverson is always causing trouble.

Would love to do some psychedelics with Feynman or Hawking.
Posted on 7/28/15 at 4:49 pm to rbWarEagle
That would be an experience.

A meaningless statement, and any "ban" would be futile. Someone, somewhere would not go along with it. Humans look for any advantage. It's just the way we are.

Number 40 something in education.

This is the exact flashback scene in almost every AI gone wrong movie.
So..... will we learn from it?
Apparently if we listen to Thib, but not those computer geek dummies in the OP, then we should be good.
Last year he said he thinks that AI could replicate and improve itself faster than humans could evolve to keep up with it and eventually be superseded. He made a prediction based on what I have seen, nothing. No math behind it, no nothing. I didn't say the man wasn't a genius, but it's not really his area of expertise, as it is for Woz.

I like that you aren't getting off it

I would listen to Hawkins for sure but to be fair this isn't exactly his field. His opinion is one to listen to but he is probably the least qualified to talk about that suubject of all the names listed.

It isn't exactly Elon Musk's field, either, but I'd take his word for it.
Posted on 7/28/15 at 9:15 pm to rbWarEagle
Wouldn't it be a lot closer to musk's field?
