Microsoft has announced that, alongside Outlook Express, Reader app and Reading list, Microsoft Paint has been signalled for death having been added to the “features that are removed or deprecated in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update” list.

After an outcry of longtime aspiring digital artists, Microsoft had a change of, umm, art, and said it would not discontinue the classic program. Instead, the company said an app version would be available in the Windows store.

People must rise up and express their anger through MS paint drawings.

I still feel weird that we are about to be in a world without IE.

As crappy as it is, its still a piece of history dammit! A comforting stable you never used, like Waffle House.

LOL. Programmers are so insecure they have to be called Creators now.

Do you even Greenshot, bro?

ETA it's a free program. You can customize your screenshot keyboard shortcut which lets you select a portion of your screen, it automatically copies to the clipboard, and then you can ctrl + v paste directly to imgur.com homepage which uploads it as an image with an image URL

*the more you know*

MS Paint is my go-to program for doing this. It is quick and easy.

It will be a shame to see it go.

What the point? It's a tiny program the requires no upkeep. Why delete it? I use it damn best everyday for screenshots

If you guys are just doing this to take non-fullscreen screenshots and not actually drawing on them, then look at Greenshot. Free, low resource screengrab software, that you can either save to clipboard, file or other options. Paint.net is a free program that's pretty lightweight and gives you the draw ability if you need that.

Yeah, I used Greenshot all the time until I got a Mac (and now can just use cmd + shift + 4 to screenshot a portion of the page to my clipboard) but the premise is the same. And a lot of people don't realize once you go to imgur.com you can just paste directly from the clipboard and don't need to click "upload image".

This feature is already on Windows 10. It's called "Snipping Tool".

I used to use snipping tool a lot until I found Greenshot. The only reason I use greenshot more is because I'm a web developer and it has some features that are big benefits to me. Like showing pixels of the area I'm capturing and a zoom of my cursor. Other than that, snipping tool should be fine for forum purposes.
