I will start working at Xavier this Fall. I appreciate tips and suggestions on where to rent an apartment. My wife and I have two kids (3 and 1). Thanks in advance.

I saw those crime stats; this intersection would be inside the new hospital.

Get an apt in Mandeville or Slidell. Commute. It's worth it for your kiddos.

Are you seriously going to compare the residential safety of Baton Rouge and New Orleans? If so, you're a retard.

Are you going to stick with your "crime is only in NBR" shtick? If so, you are a retard.

My neighborhood is very safe. I walk the neighborhood every night.

My FIL has a house in Highland Lakes subdivision (Fulwar Skipwith). It is a great place, but non-residents can walk in there to commit crimes just like anywhere.

ETA might be "The Lakes" or something or other.

Unless you want your kids to join a gang and sell drugs or you plan on dropping $20k/year for private school I'd suggest not living in NO. Covington, Mandeville, and Slidell would be the best options.

Check out Harahan, River Ridge areas.

Nice areas with large apartment complexes that offer a range of pricing whether you are on the low or high side. If you live in one of these you can hop on Earhart extremely easy and be at Xavier in about 15 minutes regardless of time.

You're welcome

I live around Jefferson Hwy and work downtown. You could use Earhart or Jeff Hwy to easily get to Xavier. I rent a small 2 bed 2 bath house for 1k. Good for me and my 2 kids.

This is actually good advice. You can find a nice apartment in parts of Metarie as well. You might be able to rent a small house in Mid-City or East Carrollton depending on your budget. I rented a small 3 bed/2 bath shotgun house over there for around $1200 a month three years ago.

No way anyone can walk to there without risking getting run over.
