re: Moving to Lafayette
And then fight traffic every morning/afternoon to go to/from work in Scott? Screw that. The Scott area actually has a few pretty nice subdivisions and is minutes from Lafayette.

There are also some good schools that are not catholic.

This weekend I sampled Billy's boudin balls that are stuffed with pepperjack cheese. I can't understand how a place with subpar boudin can have such amazing boudin balls.

Plantation Elem is a great school but then I'd have to send to Paul Breaux

Youngsville .
They've got illegals putting up cheap but expensive houses everywhere. One coat of paint and a plastic dishwasher

You did the right thing.

It is truly mystifying.

re: Moving to Lafayette
Some areas in Broussard have serious drainage problems, and all parts of Broussard have serious crazy-mayor-who-thinks-he-owns-the-town problems.

Youngsville or Scott are better. If you want to live in town look off South College or down West Bayou Parkway - Broadmoor area. Public schools in those areas are great and people are friendly.

West Bayou Parkway area is nice.. If I moved to Laffy, that's where I'd want to be.

We are moving from Pensacola back to Louisiana because of work. We both were born and raised in northern La. We would like something close to my husband's office in Scott. What are some good schools?

I moved to Broussard from Destin about 2 1/2 years ago and I really like it. As long as there are no wrecks on I-10 I can be to Scott in about 15-20 minutes.
