May 8th is coming soon guys. I just bought some stamps and mailed off my letters.

Ironically, you would have been correct in the past. The recent years have been different since I have a step-dad.

Every year I dread the thought of the "gift". I really don't think she has liked anything I've gotten her in years.
Sad, because I always killed it in grade school with pottery class coffee mugs and rigatoni necklaces.

Whatever you do, do NOT look for flowers on SUNDAY. Try Fri or Sat. I've made that mistake too many times. Btw Home Depot and Lowes have a nice selection of orchids. They don't die as easily as others.

Print out some photos of you and her and get a picture frame to frame it. Multiple pics? Get a little album and fill it up. No printer? Set up an account with Walgreens photo online and select photos to print. Voila.

My mom left us when I was just 4 years old. I found out where she lived when I was in college and every mother's day since then I've sent her a single rose and a note with my phone number in the mail. It's been 23 years that I've been doing this but I don't get discouraged. I don't get angry or impatient with her. I know she still feels that motherly yearning in her heart and one day I'll get that call.
