The five day work week will do that to you. I'm shooting to be done by 50. Could do it sooner but then I'd have to make sacrifices. frick that.

You are on social media right now.

I think about this a lot. It's insane that we're still tethered to this archaic structure as a society.

Would love. If you put in the hours why should it matter if you take Friday's off.

Let's be honest though. Lots of jobs don't even have 40 hours of work a week. If they did, the post volume on TD would be much lower.

I'd bet we could go down to 4 days (32 hours) in most industries and no one would notice.

A lot of people confuse comfort with happiness. Being comfortable is boring. But damn if it doesn't feel good.

Until one day you wake up and look around and ask yourself "how the hell did I wind up here?" Being comfortable does feel good- until it doesn't. Then you end up with someone who is looking for happiness. And that my friends is how mid-life crises begin.

Talk to people who are interesting. Ignore those who aren't. I don't have a FB. I have a Twitter and IG so I can follow interesting people but I've never tweeted or posted anything to IG.

The best way to meet interesting people is by going out and doing cool shite. Then you'll meet other people who also do cool shite.

I'm actually a really interesting person so let me know if there's anything you'd like to talk about.

A soft, easy life that fits in to normative standards will inevitably produce a class of brainless morons, but so will most other kinds of lives. Most humans just aren't going to be all that interesting because we are hard-wired to go along to get along.

If everyone was interesting then everyone would be boring.

Think about it!

Which part are you having difficulty with? There are uninteresting people active on social media and there are interesting people active on social media. Why would you follow uninteresting people? I don't really keep up with twitter or IG but the few people I follow are interesting.

That said, the best way to actually meet (IRL and shite) interesting people is by doing interesting shite.

Do you need a infographic?

There's another part: Listen. Shut up and listen and then, when there's something you want to ask, ask it.

Are you into history, natural science, home renovation, even something as odd as playing scrabble. All places to meet people where people with half inch deep knowledge get left by the wayside quickly.

Do you cook any particular food, or do you want to? Meet people at grocery stores.

Get away from the clutter and loud and start watching your world. You may find someone else who's also watching.
