Depends.

What kind of work will you be doing?

Mostly climbing on ladders and what not. Looking for something cool and lightweight.

Definitely look for either a composite or aluminum toe then. If you're climbing ladders, make sure it has a well defined heel as well.

I have a pair of these and I fricking hate them. And they aren't even steel toe. Just the pull on Wellingtons and stiff as a board.

I like Georgia Boots.

Keen composite toe boots. Spend the money and treat yourself.

Then I can't recommend the Keen composite toes enough. Mine are still very comfortable after almost two years.

Climbing things? Get lace-ups. So much more support, it's wild.

I swear by my lace-ups. Can't go wrong with Justin or Ariat...and you can usually get a solid pair of lace-ups for under $180. Walking on rebar, along foundation edges, on jagged scoria, feet were always top shape

Red wing. I love the support and reinforcement in the ankles.

Timberland pro endurance lace ups with the extra shock absorbing padding.

They are worth every penny, you will never walk in a more comfortable pair ever in your life, dont trust any of these others, im being serious, Ive owned nearly every kind available and nothing compares. I will never own anything else. LINK

The most comfortable steel toes I've ever had were Doc Martins

A lot of places require them especially if you're climbing ladders

I've found hiking style boots to be the lightest
