Burning Man on...er...fire

quote:

"It demonstrates a conflict between a man and a woman as well as the outer and inner expression of human nature," Milov writes. "Their inner selves are executed in the form of transparent children, who are holding out their hands through the grating. As it’s getting dark (night falls) the children start to shine. This shining is a symbol of purity and sincerity that brings people together and gives a chance of making up when the dark time arrives.”

I can actually appreciate that. It makes a hell of a lot more sense than colored squares

Not bad.

Much better than 98% of modern art nonsense.

I know not a sculpture, but how can a colored square(rectangles actually)such as this go for $48 Million.

Saw the documentary on the burning man. Pretty Good. That man and woman creation you posted is pretty cool.

I know nothing about Burning man, I would like to go one year. Looked like a fun place filled with scantily clad women and rich people parading as hippies.

I'm not sure that I "get" it entirely, but I like it.

that's considered Mark Rothko's masterpiece. I swear I've bought much better art from street artist at Jax square.

When it first started it looked cool as hell but lost a lot it's appeal when it became so commercialized. I don't know how it is now but I will be down to check it out also.

That's the thing about modern art (or any art, really). It's completely subjective and subject to whatever "experts" say it is. Andy Warhol made millions of a can of tomato soup for Christ's sake

Don't confuse what someone pays for art with it's quality.
