I wouldn't have an issue if it meant more officers working on things other than traffic violations, but I doubt we'll see that.

Doesn't over half the money go to an out of state consultant or some shite? That's how I morally justified not paying them so I hope it's true.

IIRC, something like 10% the revenue from the BR cameras went to the city and 90% went to the camera company.

Yep. The processing company is based in Arizona.

$1,000 bet that they go the way of the Houston red light cams (which I'm in favor of FWIW) which means a boatload of $$ out of the taxpayers pocket and city coffers.

You can't prove it was actually you driving your car so how can you issue a ticket for something that is unproveable?

It's not about the price, it's about the principle. The whole idea of some non government entity installing cameras and then demanding money is absurd. frick them.
